How to Use and Maintain Bolted Steel Silo

 Bolted steel silo is a kind of commonly used grain storage silo, but do you know how to maintain the silo after it is built to prolong its service life?



First, you should comply with the following requirements:

►The steel silo shall meet the national quality standards and can be put into use only after the trial operation is qualified.

►The air tightness of the bolted steel silo shall meet the national technical requirements. The joint of the warehouse wall is easy to leak, and good air tightness shall be ensured.

►It is not allowed to load too many particles to avoid blocking the ventilation hole on the top of the steel silo and the hole of the axial flow fan. When the grain height is higher than the silo door, it is not allowed to open the silo door.

►Although the grain is stacked in the center of the steel plate warehouse when entering the warehouse, the grain height should not be higher than the top column eave of the warehouse. The level gauge shall be used normally.

►The bolts used for the installation of the steel silo shall be standard bolts produced by regular manufacturers, and other bolts cannot be used to replace them.

►The warehouse body shall not be altered or cut without authorization, including drilling and welding.

►The bolted steel silo connected by bolts shall be prevented from cracking as far as possible, and the corrosion of galvanized parts and painted parts shall be treated in time.

►Keep away from bolted steel silo in thunderstorm days to prevent lightning stroke

Second, during the daily use of bolted steel silo, the following parts shall be regularly inspected:

►Regularly check the deformation of steel silo wall and the bolt connection of stiffener silo wall plate. If the bolt is found to fall off, please reinstall it immediately.

►Inspect and assemble the steel silo top cover on time every month, check whether the bolt joints such as the upper ring and process hole are intact, whether the fastening bolts are loose, and whether the gaskets are damaged. If the gasket is damaged, replace it in time.

►After the assembled steel silo equipment is unloaded out of the empty silo, the tightness of the silo, door frame and adjacent side plates shall be frequently checked, and the reinforcement shall be repaired according to the regulations for deformation or cracking.

►Check the surface corrosion and sealing conditions, and repair in time if any problem is found.

►Due to the alternating load condition of the bolted steel silo, the welds and paint parts of the silo shall be inspected every six months, and the deformed parts of the ladder, corridor and trestle shall be repaired. The rusted parts shall be treated in time to prevent the spread of the rusted parts.

Scientific and meticulous maintenance is helpful to reduce the repair rate of grain steel silo and prolong its service life.
