Why are thermally insulated grain silos suitable for the long-term storage of grain?

As global food security gains increasing attention, grain storage technology is evolving toward greater intelligence, energy efficiency, and quality preservation. For regions characterized by high temperatures and humidity—such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and South America—as well as areas facing extreme cold, achieving safe, long-term grain storage remains a significant challenge in the construction of grain depots. While traditional steel grain silos offer advantages such as short construction periods and low investment costs, they struggle in environments with high heat, high humidity, or extreme cold. In these conditions, significant internal temperature fluctuations, pronounced condensation, and a high risk of pest and mold proliferation can easily lead to a decline in grain quality. In contrast, thermally insulated grain silos—which have garnered increasing market interest in recent years—offer a more reliable solution for long-term storage through highly ef...
