      From June 22 to 26, the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo was successfully held at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Venue) in Beijing.      On June 23, Chairman Wen Peng was invited to participate in the themed event “Leading High-Quality Agricultural Development Through Green Transformation” and delivered a keynote presentation during the panel discussion “Building a Globally Oriented Green Supply Chain.” The session was moderated by Zheng Junfeng, host of China Global Television Network, and brought together distinguished industry leaders, including Dong Xinglei, Deputy General Manager of the Agro-related Corporate Business Department of the Agricultural Bank of China; Carlos Salinas, Executive Director for East Asia of the U.S. Soybean Export Council; Sun Yonghua, Vice President for North Asia of Louis Dreyfus Company; and Gu Lei, Chief Impact Officer of McDonald’s China.

 

     Drawing on SRON’s practical experience in building over 1,000 intelligent silos across more than 40 countries and regions worldwide, Wenpeng shared his insights on the new challenges to global food security and the development of green supply chains. He pointed out that the core of food security has shifted from “whether production volume is sufficient” to “whether the supply chain possesses resilience, efficiency, and sustainable development capabilities.” He systematically elaborated on the key value of green supply chains from three dimensions: reducing storage and transportation losses, lowering energy consumption and emissions, and enhancing risk resistance. Addressing industry pain points, he presented a systematic solution validated by China’s ultra-large-scale market. He emphasized that future grain silos will no longer be merely storage facilities, but will evolve into integrated energy and data hubs combining digital twin intelligent control, new energy integration (such as “photovoltaic + energy storage + microgrid”), and underground low-temperature grain storage. His forward-looking yet highly practical industry perspectives won wide recognition from political and business guests at the event.

 

     Secures National-Level Authoritative Award, Reinforcing Its Position as an Industry Benchmark

 

     During the exhibition, the research paper “Research on Global Food Supply Chain Security and Risk Assessment—A Perspective Based on the Overseas Expansion Practices of Chinese Grain Bulk Material Storage and Handling Enterprises,” authored by Chairman Wen Peng, won the Second Prize in the Industrial and Commercial Competition. The competition, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Research Institute, is highly authoritative within the industry. The paper takes SRON’s overseas projects as practical case studies and systematically demonstrates the application value of technologies such as digital twins and photovoltaic energy storage in reducing grain loss, achieving low-carbon emissions, and ensuring supply chain security. It provides replicable and scalable grain storage infrastructure models for food security development in Belt and Road countries. The company’s innovative achievements in green grain storage and handling have received authoritative endorsement from this national-level platform.

     During the exhibition, Vice Governor of Henan Province Liu Yujiang led a provincial economic and trade delegation to visit the booth, accompanied by officials from the Henan Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission. Luo Shouquan, Director of the Department of Grain Reserves, National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, visited the site and focused on learning about the company’s smart warehousing technologies, low-carbon grain storage R&D achievements, and their overseas implementation.
